Dear First CIRQUE Conference Participants,
We remind you some general information about “What’s New in Queer Studies?” Conference
The text of your draft paper (about 20.000 characters, including spaces) for sharing and discussion at the conference, has to be send no later than February, 28th, 2017 to the following email address:
cirque.conference2017@gmail.com
The text should also provide an essential bibliography, your name, surname, email and affiliation.
All presenters will have then the option to submit the final revised version of their papers for publication in Whatever, the peer-reviewed, open access, international online journal of CIRQUE. The relevant issue of Whatever will be published by the end of 2017.
The full-text has to be long 40.000 characters, including spaces, and it has to be redacted in English or Italian.

The first issue of Whatever will host the proceedings of the conference. Putting it together will require a considerable amount of highly skilled work, which we believe should be rewarded appropriately; because CIRQUE does not receive funding, this will prove challenging. This is why we would be extremely grateful if you would consider contributing to the publication expenses by adding a donation to your conference fee.
Add contribution towards the publication of the conference proceedings E 25.
The official languages for the paper presentation at the Conference are English and Italian. We kindly ask the participants who would like to present their papers in Italian to prepare also accompanying slides in English, in order to ensure a sufficient basis of discussion with the foreign scholars and participants who do not speak Italian.
The time for individual papers in parallel sessions will be 30 minutes. Each paper will be shortly summed up and contextualized by the author in the first 5-10 minutes, after which the rest of the individual session will be open for general discussion and Q&A.
Every panel hall will be equipped with a computer, a projector, audio speakers and a screen.
Conference registration will be 50 E for tenured faculty, 25 E for everyone else; this will include coffee breaks and lunchs.
We kindly ask you to complete the fee no later than the 15th March. Failure to comply with the registration payment within the deadline will be considered as a withdrawal from the Conference. https://cirque.unipi.it/2017conference/registration/
Upon receipt of the fee will be sent the link to access the Dropbox folder where all draft papers will be gradually deposited.
